As part of efforts to bolster the Nigerian military’s capabilities, especially in the areas of cybersecurity and global skills, an evaluation and familiarization tour was organized by the Economic Growth and Development Center team to the United States. 

The tour commenced with a warm welcome at the prestigious Success Institute in Dallas, Texas. The delegation was received and hosted by, Dr. D.L. Wallace – CEO and Founder, and Dr. M. Wallace – President of Huston-Tillotson University, where the significance of soft skills training for peak performance formed the core of the conversation. The delegation was also provided with information of learning opportunities that Huston-Tillotson University also provides.

The next stop was a familiarization tour of the UT Dallas campus conducted by Dr. Jennifer Hilton Montero – Director for International Initiatives to experience the university’s vibrant academic atmosphere, followed by a familiarization presentation by Dr. Jennifer Hilton Montero and Dr. Juan Gonzalez, the Vice Provost for Global Engagement, to explore other opportunities that UT Dallas offers.

The tour rounded up with a Cybersecurity Roundtable Discussion led by Dr. Jennifer Holmes – Dean of the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences to strategize on requirements and expectations for the specially curated online cybersecurity course for participants from the various units of the Defence Headquarters.
